Rare Large Pair 1800s Antique Original Porteiux France Brass Candle Wall Lights

 

These are a superb quality of antique French original candle wall lights with lion heads to the backplates and foliage detailing throughout. 

 

All of the crystals and glass dishes are original to the candle wall lights, with the dishes signed Porteiux which dates the wall lights to mid - late 1800s. 

(Porteiux were original glass makers for glass parts for chandeliers in the 1800s before they expanded to other glass works in the early 1900s)

 

These candle wall lights were converted to electric in the mid 1900s however they could never be wired safely for modern standards so have been converted back as original for candle use again.

(There is one hole to the backplate where the wires initially went and small holes under the candle cups, please see photos)

 

(Small denting to one of the candle cups but absolutely fine to use, just worth noting to the top back left candle cup - please see photos)

 

They are in beautiful condition considering their age with there original charming patina to the brass which has been left to retain their age.

The crystals and glass dishes are all complete with no damage. 

(There is small nibbles to the tips of the icicle and star crystals although normally common in older lighting)

 

These are Decorative Candle Wall Lights and Would Create a Lovely Statement in Any Room Placed!
